Linde Star Ruby (Man Made) Vintage Oval Gemstone Cabochons, 4mm x 6mm

The beautiful color of these oval cabochons is eye catching. They reflect a star pattern of light when held at the correct angle. 4mm x 6mm Oval: Ruby Artificial gems are made in a variety of colors and cannot be easily distinguished from a natural sapphire by the untrained eye. Linde artificial stars typically have a small letter “L” etched on the bottom of the stone. Nevertheless, you may also come across Lindes without the letter. Unless you have some gemology training, you’re unlikely to spot the differences. Linde stars marked with an “L” indicates the age as well as synthetic origin. Synthetic star corundums without any markings took over when their patent ran out many years ago. Ours are at least 30 years old.
