#4 Cavalry Perfect Bit 2 1/4″ Purchase with 6 1/2″ Shank. The cavalry shanks are a great choice for anxious or nervous horses. Those horses that have a tendency to play with the shanks. The main purpose of the design of the cavalry shank is to curve away from the horse’s mouth quick enough so the horse is not be able to grab the shank with its’ lips. How to measure The Perfect Bit We measure our bits by the Purchase and the Shank. The Purchase is measured from the top ring to the mouthpiece. The Shank is measured from the mouthpiece down to the bottom ring. All mouthpieces are a standard 5 3/16″ wide. All Perfect Bits are stamped on the inside right cheek to identify the shank and mouthpiece. Available in Cavalry Adjustable Combination. Made in the U.S.A.
